KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 1 (Bernama) -- The "Gegar Generasiku" Carnival, organised by Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM), will be held once every two months in selected locations nationwide.
RTM director-general Datuk Ibrahim Yahya said it was to realise the aspiration of Information Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim who wanted the programme to be organised and instilled with elements of 1Malaysia.
"It will be an effort to bring us closer to the people, especially youngsters who are involved in immoral activities.
"We are not only giving them entertainment, in fact, disseminate information through exhibitions which will be held during the carnival, " he told reporters after visiting the carnival site in conjunction with the "Gegar Generasiku" Concert at Angkasapuri here on Sunday.
Ibrahim said the proposed location for the next carnival would be Kuala Terengganu, Pagoh, Pekan, Port Dickson, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching.
