Abuse leaves baby with broken legs

KUALA TERENGGANU: A 6-month-old baby girl is in hospital with broken legs and her mother, suspected of abusing her, is in hiding. On Feb 14, the 36-year-old woman brought the baby to the Sultanah Nur Zahirah hospital saying she had had fallen off the bed.
While the girl was being treated, the mother left the hospital.
A medical team then confirmed the child had been abused, and lodged a police report.
Police went to her home in Taman Seri Desa, Gong Badak, on Tuesday but were told the suspect, a second wife and mother of two, had been missing for days.
Police said the father was not involved in the abuse.- NST
