Assaulted at night market

KUALA TERENGGANU: A 13-year-old student was injured when a group of youths assaulted him at a night market, here, on Saturday. The boy, who went alone to the Kampung Losong night market, was confronted by a man who led him to the back of the market where a group of boys was waiting.

State CID deputy chief Superintendent K. Manoharan said the group surrounded the victim and started beating him for about 20 minutes before one of them sent him to his home in Kampung Losong at about 9.30pm.

The victim's father lodged a report at the Chabang Tiga police station and the case is being investigated for assault.
