KUALA TERENGGANU: A Road Transport Department officer has lodged a report over the theft of five motorcycles and spare parts from its enforcement operations centre in Kijal, Kemaman, some 196km from here.
The missing items, which had been confiscated earlier from traffic offenders, were to be have been used as evidence in a trial soon.
In his report, the 32-year-old officer said the security guard at the centre informed him that the rear fence had been prised open.
Upon checking, he found that the machines and spare parts, which were seized in December last year, were missing.
State deputy CID chief Supt K. Manoharan said police later recovered three of the machines at a house in Kertih Monday.
However, he added the suspects managed to flee from the house upon seeing the raiding team.
