SMS death threat case: Clerk freed on bail

KUALA TERENGGANU: A 31-year-old clerk detained in connection with the SMS death threats received by three Barisan Nasional assemblymen has been released on police bail.

The clerk, who was detained at Bandar Baru Bangi in Selangor on April 20, was released at about 6pm yesterday after being remanded for a week.

The SMS which was sent to assemblymen Datul Rosol Wahid (ajil), Abdul Halim Jusoh (Permaisuri) and Zakaria Abdullah (Paka) on April 13 led to them and seven other representatives staying away from the second-day sitting of the state assembly.

It is learnt that police were zooming in on the culprit who allegedly sent the SMS based on the information provided by the clerk.
